Fight Alzheimer's Disease

  1. Eating a diet high in omega-3 fatty acids (found in fish) significantly decreases the brain's buildup of amyloid protein, which makes up the brain plaques that are attributed to Alzheimer's.

  2. The use of the Chinese club moss (huperzine A) has widely been used for treatment of cognitive disorders.

  3. The use of the spice curry in cooking has shown to greatly decrease the chance of getting Alzheimer's, by as much as 90%.

  4. Regular and vigorous exercise, and mind challenging activities have been linked to decreasing Alzheimer's.

  5. The use of the herb ginkgo biloba has been found to be just as effective as the prescription drug Aricept in slowing down brain damage caused by Alzheimer's.

  6. Eating a diet rich in folate (including green leafy vegetables and fruit including strawberries) and very low in sugar also will help.
